In January, a few members of the Pelsbarn team visited Strays Worth Saving (SWS) in the Philippines. What began as a donation became something much more meaningful, it was an experience that highlighted the true importance of supporting shelters worldwide.
Who They Are
SWS is a rescue dedicated to giving left behind, overlooked, and injured animals a second chance. From the moment we arrived, we could see how obvious their devotion was to each and every dog and cat in their care. They show up in the moments that matter most, supporting each animal through treatment, recovery and rehabilitation with genuine love and care.
What We Donated
We donated pet food as well as a cash contribution to support their ongoing rescue work. These donations go directly toward feeding, treating, and caring for the many animals who depend on them.

Why It Matters
Visiting shelters in person really shows the impact our Pelsbarn community can make. From the moment the team arrived, they were met with wagging tails, excited smiles, and dogs from all walks of life, some shy, some living with disabilities, but all ready in their own way for love and affection.
Among them was a small, sweet Aspin named Panyero, who quickly became a favourite by melting the teams’ hearts, along with bonded pairs who stayed close to one another throughout the visit, small reminders of the deep connections these beautiful dogs form.
Strays Worth Saving stands out for their deep commitment to never giving up, making sure every dog and cat is given the care, attention and all the cuddles they deserve.
