For Valentine’s Day, we spent the day with the dogs from Perritos del Higuerón. Not only did we bring some comfy beds and blankets, we took two of the pups out for a special little “date”, a chance for fresh air, new surroundings, and one-on-one attention away from the shelter.
It was a day filled with sweet, bonding moments, wagging tails, and cute adventures!
Who They Are
Perritos del Higuerón is a rescue based in Málaga, Spain, dedicated to saving and caring for neglected and abandoned animals.
Since 2018, they have grown into a safe haven for dogs, cats, horses, and a goat! Many of the dogs live freely within the sanctuary, while others receive ongoing care and support as they wait for adoption.
They also care for, and support local cat colonies through feeding, sterilisation, and daily check-ins.
At the heart of their work is a simple mission: to give every animal safety, love, and the chance for the best life possible.
What We Donated

Original Calming Beds and Calming Blankets to help create comfort and reassurance, giving dogs soft, secure spaces where they can rest and feel safe

Walking Harnesses to support safe, controlled walks, helping dogs explore the world beyond the shelter in a positive, fun and secure way
Why It Matters
We wanted to make the most of our time spent with the pups, so we decided to take a couple of the fur babies out for a special day together, experiencing new environments, gentle walks, and one-on-one attention. These little experiences can mean so much to shelter dogs (and also to us!).
A short reflection from the team captured the heart of the day:

Small moments of calm can mean so much for an anxious shelter animal. Sweet adventures outside the shelter help build confidence, trust, and emotional wellbeing. And soft beds helps ease stress and offers a familiar, comforting place to rest.
How You Can Help
Donations help provide food, veterinary care, bedding, and daily essentials for the animals at the sanctuary. These contributions are vital in supporting the animals who rely on ongoing care.
