This March, our journey led us to a truly special place, Aklan Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (AARRC) in the Philippines.
Who They Are
AARRC was founded by an amazing couple from the Netherlands whose lives are fully invested in animal welfare, supporting animals in need across both the Philippines and the Netherlands. Alongside the committed AARRC team, they work tirelessly, responding to every rescue call and caring for stray, abandoned, and injured animals, making sure no animal is ever left behind.
They have their challenges like most shelters do. At times, there may be limited resources, and a lot of one on one attention is needed for injured or disabled animals. But they are always committed and guided by deep compassion, making sure that each and every animal is cared for and has a second chance at life.
What We Donated

Cooling Mats and Cooling Ortho Beds to help regulate body temperature and relieve pressure on joints. Especially important in warm, humid climates
- Calming Beds and Calming Blankets to provide a sense of security and softness that helps reduce stress and anxiety
Why It Matters
When a dog arrives at a shelter, they may be frightened, injured, or recovering from trauma - and some are not trusting of their new human friends. Providing them with a safe space that supports both their physical and emotional recovery can help reduce stress levels, and encourage healing, and trust.
In warmer climates, cooling support is especially important. Overheating can add unnecessary stress to animals that feel exposed and helpless, while comfortable beds can ease discomfort, support joint health, and improve overall emotional wellbeing.
