When our team visited a shelter in Miami, we were shown all the dogs currently waiting for adoption. Each dog with its own story and character: some shy, some playful, all deserving of love… and then we met Fernando.
Fernando has lived at the shelter since he was found as a stray, when he was just a new born puppy. Now, he’s a big boy: strong, full of energy, and full of life. Because of his size and enthusiasm, finding him a home hasn’t been easy. People often overlook larger dogs, assuming they’re difficult to handle. But the truth is… Fernando has a big heart to match his big paws.
Breed: Shepherd / Terrier
The moment he saw us, he ran over with his tail wagging, eyes sparkling with excitement and within seconds, he flopped onto his back asking for belly rubs. That’s when we all fell for him.
In that instant, we all wanted to take him home. He is a joyful, loving soul who’s been waiting far too long for his chance to be part of a family.
We half-joked that we wanted to adopt him on the spot. But Fernando needs to be adopted by a Miami resident. So to our disappointment, we could not take him.
Every dog deserves what Fernando’s been waiting for: a safe home, a cozy bed, and someone to love them endlessly. 🐶💛
